The right stemmed glass for a successful tasting experience

The wine glass must have a specific shape to allow the wine to be best appreciated. Whether it is for tasting or simply for pleasure, to appreciate a red, white or rosé wine, the wine glass must meet certain requirements: it must have a base so it can be put down, and a stem so it can be held elegantly while avoiding heating up the wine and leaving fingerprints on the glass.
If the bowl, also known as the chalice, has an inward curving tulip shape, it will be ideal for mature wines. This profile offers a clean, regular flow in the mouth, enabling you to taste elegantly and professionally in small sips.
If your wine is young, and therefore has not yet reached its full potential, it needs an inner shape with an angle. This way, when you swirl the wine inside the glass, in contact with the oxygen in the air, the wine will gain in softness and roundness, which will give you much more pleasure.
Whatever the age of your wine, the upper part of the wine glass should be inward curving, in order to concentrate the wine's aromas and thus better detect them. The rim should be as thin as possible, so that the glass is forgotten as you enjoy your red, white or rosé wine.
The material from which the wine glass is made is also important: forget disposable plastic cups that pollute, abandon coloured glasses that will prevent you from appreciating the colour of the wine and its clarity, leave cut glasses in cupboards and separate from those that have turned white over time. Krysta© glasses have a higher transparency than crystal. Their sound, shine and resistance to shocks and to whitening in the dishwasher make them ideal for everyday use.
Don't forget to adapt the volume of the wine glass to the wine being tasted. Your tasting experience will be a wonderful moment if the volume of wine poured does not exceed one third of the total volume of the glass. Choose the red wine glasses, white wine glasses or rosé wine glasses that suit you best to enhance your tastings.
