Rosé wine glasses: various shapes and capacities for unique tasting experiences

How is a rosé wine glass recognised?
To answer this question, let's ask ourselves what a rosé wine is? The style of rosé wines is influenced by the grape variety(ies) used, the terroir and above all the winemaking method. Their aromas, most often fruity and floral, are more or less intense. Rosé wines do not age well and are best enjoyed when young. The colour of rosé wines can present all shades, from almost colourless to grenadine red. Since mixing red and white wines is not permitted, this colour comes from red grapes, whose skin pigments tint the juice. Rosé wine requires a relatively large glass (35 to 40 cl). This is how a rosé wine from Provence, a Tavel, a Côte de Provence, a Bandol, a Sancerre rosé or a Cabernet d'Anjou will express itself perfectly.
However, beware! Good-quality rosé wine is never a mixture of white and red wine. Only these blends are allowed in Champagne. There are two methods that will produce two different types of rosé wines with more or less intense colours.
Bled rosé wine, which reveals intense red fruit aromas resulting in a robust rosé wine.
Pressed rosé wine beautifully expresses aromas of citrus fruit and white flowers and offers a crisp style of wine.
The style of rosé wines is therefore characterised by its intensity of aromas and body. They can be light and powerful. Their aromas can be discreet or, on the contrary, very pronounced. This is entirely logical! Rosé wine is closer to red wine than to white wine, since it is made with grape varieties that can make red wines. In fact, rosé wines are most often made from a blend of grape varieties, which allows for a greater diversity of aromas.
Did you know that rosé wine is the darling of the French? 36% of global consumption takes place in France. It is also THE wine of lovers, with its consumption peak on February 14th! Over to you to find the one that suits you.
