That's why, at Luminarc and Chef&Sommelier, we've decided to present you with the essential cocktail recipes for the summer season. Follow our guide to refresh your guests in style!

simple and fast

Which cocktail should you choose for your summer evenings?

To make your barbecue party or aperitif on the terrace a success, the secret lies in simplicity and diversity. As you won't have much time to spend on preparation during the party, it's best to mainly opt for simple and quick cocktail recipes.

Also, remember to offer a variety of options so that all your guests can find something they like: include fruity flavors, a touch of bitterness, but also delicious non-alcoholic cocktails (mocktails). Finally, for the party to last under the sun, choose light and low-alcohol cocktails, perfect for long summer conversations.

7 essential cocktails for summer

Need some inspiration for your drinks menu? Here are our 7 cocktail ideas for a successful summer evening, to try urgently.

1. The Mojito: the timeless classic

The Mojito is a traditional Cuban cocktail born in the early 1900s. Made with rum, lime, and fresh mint, it offers a refreshing variation on the traditional ti-punch from the Antilles, the daiquiri, or the Cuba Libre. With a beautiful green hue, it is ideally served in a Luminarc tumbler glass.

  • Ingredients: Fresh mint leaves, 1/2 lime in pieces, 2 tsp. brown cane sugar, 5 cl white or amber rum, crushed ice, and sparkling water (or lemonade) to top up.

    2. The Spritz: a taste of Italian holidays

Hailing from the Venice region, the Spritz has been the star cocktail in recent years. Its beautiful orange color, freshness, and slight bitterness make it the king of terraces. The Spritz is ideally presented in a wide, long-stemmed glass to enhance its bubbles.

  • Ingredients: 50 ml Aperol (or Campari), 75 ml very dry Prosecco, 50 ml sparkling water, 3 ice cubes, and a beautiful orange slice for decoration.

  • 3. The Blue Hawaiian: the cocktail as blue as the ocean

Craving visual exoticism? The Blue Hawaiian instantly captivates with its lagoon color, provided by curaçao. A gourmet tropical cocktail that transports you from the first sip.

  • Ingredients: 4 cl white rum, 12 cl pineapple juice, 1 cl blue curaçao, and 4 cl coconut cream.

  • 4. Piña Colada: the sweetness of the islands for rum lovers

Originally from Puerto Rico, the Piña Colada is one of the most famous cocktails in the world. Smooth, sweet, and fruity, it is made directly in a shaker to achieve an irresistible creamy texture.

Ingredients (for a large pitcher to share): 25 cl white rum, 400 ml coconut milk, 1 liter pineapple juice, 1/2 liter banana juice, 2 tbsp vanilla extract, 1 cinnamon stick, and a pinch of grated nutmeg.

5. Margarita: the quintessential Mexican cocktail

Created in Mexico in the 1940s, the Margarita is a variation of the Daisy cocktail, where brandy is replaced by tequila. Aesthetic and convivial, it is served in a flared cocktail glass with a salted rim.

  • Ingredients: 5 cl tequila, 3 cl triple sec (Cointreau type), 2 cl fresh lime juice, and fine salt for rimming the glass.

    6. Coffee Soda: the boost for late evenings

For your guests to regain energy during a long summer evening, the Coffee Soda is the ideal alternative. It offers surprising freshness thanks to the bubbles and an excellent kick thanks to the intense aromas of coffee.

  • Ingredients (for 8 people): Prepare a syrup with 25 cl boiling water, 250 g coffee grounds, 1 tbsp coffee extract, 200 g sugar, and 10 g citric acid. Serve a dose of this chilled syrup and top up with sparkling water.

    7. Coconut Kiss: the alcohol-free mocktail alternative

Because the party is better when everyone participates, the Coconut Kiss is a gourmet and creamy alcohol-free cocktail, made in a shaker. It will delight children and adults who do not consume alcohol.

  • Ingredients: 3 cl pineapple juice, 4 cl orange juice, 2 cl coconut syrup, and 3 cl liquid fresh cream (or light coconut cream).
